Republic of Zimbabwe Vice-President Joice Mujuru visited the South American nation of Brazil for the inauguration of the first woman President Dilma Rousseff. Rousseff and Mujuru are former revolutionary guerrilla fighters.

BRAZILIAN envoy Senator Marcello Crivella yesterday paid a courtesy call on Acting President Joice Mujuru and delivered a special message from President Dilma Rousseff.
In an interview with journalists soon after meeting Acting President Mujuru, Senator Crivella said Brazil was keen on expanding co-operation with Zimbabwe in such sectors as agriculture.
“We came just to deliver a letter from the President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff. We want to enlarge co-operation between our countries.
“Brazil has achieved good goals in agriculture and Zimbabwe has the potential to become the Brazil of Africa,” he said.
Senator Crivella said Zimbabwe had good soils and hardworking people.
He said like Brazil, Zimbabwe could invest heavily in projects like bio-diesel and ethanol.
Senator Crivella said Acting President Mujuru pledged to broaden relations between the two countries.
The Acting President also took the opportunity to pay her condolences to Senator Crivella after floods and landslides killed over 800 people in Brazil and left 400 missing.
Zimbabwe and Brazil enjoy good bilateral relations.
They held their inaugural Zimbabwe-Brazil Joint Commission in 2009 hosted by Harare.
At that meeting Brazil pledged to help Zimbabwe develop its vast mineral resou-rces and partner in development projects.
Acting President Mujuru was among the 30 international dignitaries who witnessed the swearing in of President Rousseff as Brazil’s first female president on New Year’s Day.-
