Council of State declares Official and National Mourning
TO mark the death of compañero Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Cuban
Council of State has decreed the following:
First: To declare a period of official mourning from 6.00am, March 6 to 12:00 midnight on March 7.
Second: To declare March 8 a day of National Mourning.
During the period of official mourning, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on public buildings and military establishments.
During the period of national mourning, all public entertainment events and festive activities are suspended.
