Since the Obama administration came to office in 2009, the imperialist war drive initiated by George W. Bush has not only continued but escalated. The overthrow of the government in Libya under Gaddafi was a clear demonstration of the actual agenda of the Democratic Party even with Barack Obama as its head.

What is transpiring in Ukraine and the U.S. threats against Russia represent a continuation of this militarist posture. The danger of war against Russia resulting from the State Department engineered coup in Kiev on Feb. 22, could lead to a direct military confrontation with Moscow.

The Obama administration and the European Union have imposed sanctions against Russia but these measures will inevitably backfire on the imperialist states. Natural gas and oil prices will rise across the world and tensions are already escalating within Ukraine and surrounding states.

This broadcast continues with the second part of the tribute to Paul Robeson on the 116th anniversary of his birth on April 9, 1898. Robeson died in relative obscurity in Philadelphia in January 1976.

The program focuses on the plot to isolate, punish and ultimately destroy Paul Robeson. During the period between 1949 and 1961, Robeson was blacklisted, prevented from earning decent living in the U.S., his passport was seized and we also examine allegations that he was poisoned by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Moscow during 1961.
