The Israeli regime continues to pound the besieged Gaza Strip, killing more Palestinians, including women and children.

At least 97 Palestinian have been killed in the ongoing Israeli attacks that started on Tuesday. According to Palestinian sources, one third of the casualties are women and children.

Israeli warplanes and drones have reportedly pounded more than 600 targets across the besieged coastal enclave over the past three days.

Earlier on Thursday, eight people were killed after Israeli jets bombed a building in the Gazan city of Khan Yunis. Eight more people were also killed in an airstrike on a beach café, where people were watching a football match between Argentina and the Netherlands.

Israel has also mobilized 20,000 soldiers for a possible ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.

Osama Hamdan, the head of Hamas’ international relations committee, warned that the Palestinian resistance movement is ready to hit back at Israeli forces should the Tel Aviv regime launch a ground incursion into the besieged Gaza Strip.

"Israelis are trying to heat up the situation in order to start a ground operation, which will not be an easy issue for the Israelis and also for the resistance. But we are ready to face that," Hamdan said.

The Hamas official added that the Israeli mentality counts on the support it receives from the United States for its aggression against the Palestinians.

Palestinian resistance movements in the besieged Gaza Strip have responded to Israel’s aggression by targeting towns and cities deep inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
