The contact person on Ebola for the subregion, Togolese President, Faure Gnassingbe, said his rounds and enquiries in affected countries have shown how devastating the disease is.

He said though the affected countries Mali, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria have not recorded any more cases, education must still go on and global support is much needed.

President Gnassingbe commended efforts by the United Nations through its Mission on Ebola Emergency Response UNMEER for its swift deployment.

The meeting is being attended by the President of the ECOWAS Commission Kadre Desire Ouadraogo and the UN Special Representative for the Sub-region Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas.
