MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - An African-American protest group will stage a rally Tuesday night in front of the Madison City-County Building.

It's in response to what Madison Police Chief Mike Koval wrote in a blog Monday. He said he's tired of the Young, Gifted, and Black Coalition blaming his police officers for race-related problems.

The group has been holding occasional protests in the wake of white officers shooting black men to death in places like Milwaukee, New York, and Ferguson Missouri.

The group also opposes a new Dane County Jail, and said 350 black inmates at the jail should be released.

Last week, the coalition told Chief Koval in a letter to keep his officers out of black neighborhoods.
