SACP Gauteng Condemns the EFF Fascist Threat to Disrupt the State of the Nation Address
9 February 2015

The SACP 2nd Deputy General Secretary Comrade Solly Mapaila speaking at the SACP Gauteng provincial lecture on `anti-fascism` denounced the EFF`s obsession with violence, destruction and anarchy and further vowed that the South African working class shall isolate and finally defeat these violent bigoted fascists who serve the interests of the reactionary capitalist ruling class.

The SACP held its lecture as a continuation of the Provincial Lekgotla yesterday at the Soweto theatre attended by more than 500 delegates from across the province of Gauteng.

The Lekgotla also notes that the EFF preys on a demagogic mobilisation of a relatively small, insignificant, minority and lumpen section of unemployed youth as storm-troopers for its reactionary violent campaign of anarchy. It takes advantage of the structural unemployment affecting many South African youth. It also aims to grow its presence in organisations of the working class in South Africa although its campaign has dismally failed to gain traction amongst the working class base.

Both the DA and EFF tactics converge in the subordination of working class to bourgeois politics.

Though the Lekgotla called for further debate for the tactics of the struggle against fascism, it recognised that the EFF cannot fully exercise its fascist function without an alliance with sections of the DA as an unadulterated party of monopoly capital. Fascism requires both the demagogic, violent, anarchic element to be complemented by the rightwing of monopoly capital, the DA.

This gives the development of a fascist movement the duality of its character in South Africa. Fascism is a puzzle, consisting of an alliance by the EFF and the DA.

As part of responding to this development, the Lekgotla agreed to join the Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) on a special effort to fight the spiral of drug addiction in our communities.

In this regard we pledge to mobilise young people to reject the violence and anarchy of the EFF and its fascist outlook.

The provincial Secretary Comrade Jacob Mamabolo addressing the Lekgotla condemned the growing pattern by the EFF, to rent demented thugs in its campaign of destabilisation.

He observed that the fascist force is more dangerously positioned than ever before, given that it is fast losing the veil of a fake revolutionary profile. It is evident in the working class rejection of its policies.

The renting of thugs to attack government buildings as witnessed in Randfontein is symptomatic of the operation of these incoherent lunatics, who burn schools, clinics and libraries.

The ANC Provincial Secretary Comrade Hope Papo also condemned the spate of violence in working class communities driven by the desperate EFF.

The threat to disrupt the State of the nation address by President Jacob Zuma is typical of the political and fascist social outlook that receives promotion in the monopoly capital owned media, who praise these thugs as "robust".

In the conclusion of the Lekgotla the SACP emphasised the need to formally launch a campaign for revolutionary people`s culture, which has the primary objective to push back the destructive, hate-driven violence affecting particularly the elders, women, children and foreign nationals.

This campaign will focus on mass mobilisation, ideological and political education of our people, through a systematic program by the communist university. It will focus on cultivating the values of Ubuntu, promote harmony amongst our people, unity, internationalism and respect for human lives.

The SACP is resolute on the offensive against fascism in our communities and society in general.

Down with fascism!

SACP Mpumalanga condemns the hooliganism and disruption of the memorial lecture

29 January 2015

The South African Communist Party in Mpumalanga is shocked and disgusted by the hooliganism which was displayed by people wearing ANC regalia on Sunday, 25 January 2015 during the Joe Slovo and Jimmy Mohlala Memorial Lecture held at Kanyamazane.

These sinister acts can never be condoned especially coming from our allied organisation. The District Secretary Cde Bhobert Nkosi and other members were assaulted by this rented crowd of the Lumpen-Tenderpreneurs.

The attempts by Lumpen Tenderpreneurship Tendency to liquidate the South African Communist Party have hit a solid rock. Our detractors tried by all means to weaken the Party and persecute its members and leaders; they use the apartheid style of divide and rule, threatening those who are steadfast. These actions exactly remind us of the total onslaught strategy by PW Botha in the 80s.

We will never believe anything that speaks of pure criminal attacks relating to politicians in this province. We are convinced that there is a bunch of politically charged corrupt criminals hidden at a particular corner who have made it their business to eliminate principled politicians and persecute communists. We refuse to be threatened and dictated by the Lumpen-Tenderpreneurs on how to run the Party and implement its programs and campaigns.

It is very disturbing that the leadership of the ANC REC in Ehlanzeni instructed the SACP to cancel the lecture or face terrible consequences especially if Provincial Secretary Bonakele Majuba and Cde Matthew Phosa will be the speakers, and indeed bad things happened. We hold a firm view that the anarchy was sanctioned and approved by DD Mabuza. His leadership style has failed to inspire confidence to the legitimate members of the movement. He is the mastermind of anti-communism tendency in the province and such was proven in many occasions.

This kind of disruptive violence has been taking place in the province ever since he assumed leadership; in branches of the ANC and even in regional conferences (recent Ehlanzeni Regional Conference), recent funeral service of former ANCYL Chairperson Cde Kgotso Motloung and a former member of parliament was once assaulted.

These barbaric acts of violence are not in the tradition of the ANC, the ANC was founded and it still remains a peaceful but revolutionary organisation. These acts of barbarism reflect the apartheid regime tactics when it oppressed and persecuted the people of South Africa, and it also reminds us of vigilante groups such as Blacks Cats in Ermelo, Mbokodo in former KwaNdebele, etc. we wish to reiterate that there is no conflict between the ANC and SACP in the province but conflict between the SACP and individuals who are corrupt hiding themselves behind the banner of the ANC.

We are not shaken by the weekend incident instead we are more re-energized to face corruption and Lumpen-Tenderpreneurs. We are going to continue implementing all programs of the SACP without any fear or intimidation. The SACP is an independent political organisation with its constitution, programs and campaigns. We will continue to roll out our 2015 radicalised program of action to defeat the Lumpen Tenderpreneurs in the province. We will not allow our glorious movement to be led by individuals who are hell bent in liquidating the Party and are obsessed with conspicuous consumption at the expense of the working class and the poor.

We wish all our comrades who were injured by the hooligans a speedy recovery. We will soldier on to advance our programs and campaigns without fear, favour or prejudice.
