Initially, communication from the ANC late on Sunday night was that the voting was postponed purely for logistical and practical reasons and would only begin at 6am on Monday.

JOHANNESBURG - Delegates have been voting through the night for the African National Congress (ANC)’s top six leadership.

The voting continues on Monday morning after confusion over when this process would get underway.

Initially, communication from the ANC late on Sunday night was that the voting was postponed purely for logistical and practical reasons and would only begin at 6am on Monday.

But after some contestation from delegates, another message was sent to inform the media that the voting would go ahead.

This was in the early hours of this morning and members have been making their mark at the ballot box since then.

Most provinces have now completed voting except for the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal.
